Vending trucks are everywhere in Santa Ana, and they provide an important service to many residents who cannot afford or find transportation to supermarkets. But they also contribute to childhood obesity. Voice of OC contributing writer Amy DePaul examines this paradox.

As the Orange County Board of Supervisors gears up for negotiations with the county’s major unions, it is considering a range of items to try to take back at the negotiating table. However, as Norberto Santana Jr. reports, the board is today set to vote on a contract with managers that expands a controversial bonus program.
