If you’re like a lot of voters, you’re heading to your polling place today with a strong idea of your choice for president, but a more vague idea when it comes to the rest of the choices on the ballot.

And the choices are aplenty. They include an open congressional seat in central county; a competitive three-way race for county supervisor; a ballot measure to create a county ethics commission; and a judicial race that pits a prosecutor against a judge who was reprimanded for having sex with a former intern in his chambers and then recommending her for a job at the District Attorney’s office.

To help you with your patriotic duty, we’ve put together the following rundown of the major candidates in key races and county ballot measures. Also, information on polling places and voting can be found at ocvote.com.
